Diarrhea

Diarrhea is defined as having three or more loose or liquid bowel movements per day. Diarrhea itself is not dangerous but what it can lead to is. The frequent passing of watery stools leads to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Diarrhea is the second most common cause of infant deaths worldwide.

There are many causes of diarrhea but the most common are pathogens- bad bacteria, parasites, and viruses which suggests that the balance of microscopic life in the gastrointestinal tract is of utmost importance for digestive health.
