About Lactobacillus paracasei

Lactobacillus paracasei is one of the many species of bacteria in the Lactobacillus family. These are lactic-acid forming bacteria that generally play a beneficial role in the gastrointestinal tract.

Possible Benefits

L. paracasei is a relatively new probiotic and most studies done on on it involve specific subspecies and whether or not they can establish themselves in the gastrointestinal tract. [1]

One recent study found potential antihypertensive effects for a specific species of L. paracasei, [2]
